Title (Max 100 Characters)
On Saturday November 3, 2012 At North Ridgeville Middle school will be an event to encourage our community to vote for the school levy. We hope to have our Marching Band and students involved. It starts at 11:00 am. It is urgent that the community realizes what will happen if levy does not pass. We will no longer have a full school day it will be cut to 5 hours. We will have not have a Marching Band for any parades our community has including memorial day parades that honor our veterans. The list continues on and on.
2013-2014 Cuts Announced at Board Meeting
At their regular board meeting held October 16 at 6 p.m. the Board of Education announced a plan of cuts for the 2013-2014 school year if the 5.9 mill levy does not pass during this school year. These lists are prioritized.
What if the levy does not pass during the 2012-2013 school year?
1. Elimination of all athletics and extra-curriculars in addition to all after school co-curriculars
2. Two-mile transportation limit imposed for K-8, continue the practice of no bussing for high school students
3. Reduction to minimum student day (approximately 5 hours) currently 6 1/4 hours resulting in additional reductions in administration, teaching and support staff. Further reductions in staff at the high school will necessitate a reduction in the required credits for graduation.
4. Reduction of building availability outside of school hours.
