There were roughly 66,000 emergency department visits by children under age 18 years associated with batteries during the 20-year study period. Children sought emergency evaluation for batteries placed in the mouth, ear or nose, but most frequently by batteries that were swallowed, especially among children aged 5 years or younger.

Radio Stations WOBL AM 1320 and WDLW 1380 AM partner with Spin Cycle Coin Laundry  in Lorain for a "Spring Cleaning" clothing drive to help the less fortunate in Lorain County.

Between now and Thursday, May 24, 2012, Spin Cycle Coin Laundry on Oberlin Avenue in Lorain (across from Rebman's Bowling Alley) will take your gently worn clothing and will wash, dry and fold them for donation to several local shelters. Stop out that day for a live remote broadcast with WOBL & WDLW from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

We are looking for clothing for all seasons in all sizes for men, women, children and infants. New packaged undergarments are also in demand. A previous clothing drive brought in 6,000 pounds of clothing and this year we're hoping to beat that amount. Come on Lorain County, are you up for a challenge? Clean out your closets between now and May 24th and help us help others.
